v - a.k.a. "vih" - just be "vih-ry" careful with this gesture, in particular!

OK, so, in the last post, we WERE considering "...it...", but now we're going to consider... "TIH!"...

...or "t", as in "tip", but without the "p" sound at the end:

Again, at the end of my post on "r", or "rah", I say, "So there we have it...", and now, here we have... "tih"!

g & 8 & 2, which equals decimal "twenty-six". If ye would like, try looking up "d". It is simply "t" moved over to the right, one digit. So, the pinky goes up, the middle finger gets "tucked in and rolled in", the index finger goes up, and the thumb comes in, and you have "d" (or decimal thirteen)...


... which is half of "t" (or, again, decimal twenty six)!

r - "rah"


So, now we "let go" of our thumb, index finger, and middle finger, still hold down the little finger, and pull in the ring finger, and we have... (ready to do the lion immitation?...) "rah!", which is represented by the letter "r". And it is worth g&8, which, again equals, (let's say it a little louder now, just for fun!) "RAH!" (again, i.e., "r").

Of course, in decimal, that would be sixteen plus eight, which equals twenty four.

Hey! Here is an exercise that ye may find interesting (and "ye" is the subjective form of the objective "you" - not usually used these days, but used by me): Look back at the hand representation for "three" or "3". Notice that, for that number, the thumb and index finger are pulled in. Then, look at "six" or "6". Notice that, for that number, it is the same as 3, except that the thumb is up, and the middle finger is pulled in. In other words, we simply "move '3' over" by one digit. Then, look at "twelve" or "c". Again, it is the same as 6, except that the index finger is down, and the the ringer finger is in. So, again, from 6 to c, "6" got moved one digit to the left. And, finally, again, consider "r" or "twenty four", which I have just presented. It is "c", except that the middle finger is down, and the little finger is in. Here they are, all together:








So, there we have it (I am about to crack a jolly pun here, so do be warned, I pray you...) the "rah" goods!

q - "quah", a.k.a. "What?"



Note: I could have drawn the "ring finger" sticking up, but actually it is just as comfortable to rest it on my palm as drawn - and it "doesn't count" because it is not "tucked in" like the other fingers. I suppose I could say I am "speaking a little French" or, "je parles en peut de Francais" on this one. I believe "qua" means "what" in French.

So, in my modified stroke notation, that would be:

g & 4& 2& 1 = q

Or, in decimal, sixteen plus four plus two plus one, eqauling twenty three.

P.S. So then, I suppose the expression: "qua et qua" ("et" being French for "and"), would translate into decimal 23 plus 23, which would equal 46... (in duoTRIgesimal, or Base thirty two, that would be "q&q='1e' dtg" (dtg is a "marker" that denotes the base as, again, duotrigesimal)).

n - or "in"

OK, so with our pinky finger and middle finger still held down (which, again, gave us "m"), we pull our thumb "in", and that GIVES us "n"! (In other words, we will CALL it "in")!
